What is it?
Crown
Information Systems Offsite backup is a backup service where data is stored
remotely away from your location. This is the greatest level of protection you
can get. Using offsite backup with Crown Information Systems is very easy.
|
Our offsite backup system uses a software program and the Internet to transmit
your files across the Internet to our secure servers. But it is not your raw
files the are being transferred for someone to steal. We are transferring
smaller segments of your files. Each of those segments are encrypted up to 448
bit encryption. Even when stored at our remote server, the files remain
encrypted and secure. This high level of security makes our service HIPPA
compliant.

 |
But this service is more than a simple backup service, it is a full featured
backup system with a myriad of available options. One of the major advances over
previous backup plans we have offered, is replication. Our current backup system
offers replication to other areas. What this means is that your data can be
backed up to several different secure servers in different areas of the United
States. Our primary backup server will be in Lake County, Florida. Additional
replication servers will be available in Polk County, Florida, and St Louis
County, Missouri.
 |
You might ask, why would I need replication? Replication is the only perfect way
to protect your data. A huge start for most businesses is just to get an offsite
backup in place. But if your still concerned of a bomb or natural disaster
destroying everything in the Southeast, where our servers reside, then our
replication service will protect you by having a copy of your data in the
Midwest.
|
Another great new feature of our latest backup program is redundancy. Our new
system allows us to save up to 99 of the latest versions of your file. This is
good in case a file picks up a virus or it is deleted but not realized for many
days or weeks. However, the more copies of a file you keep the larger your
needed storage space.
