Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When my computer or server is off, will the offsite
backup work?
A: No, if your computer or server that is being backed up
is not powered on with a valid Internet connection, your backups will not
complete. However, once your computer is turned on and connected to the
Internet, your latest scheduled backup will run and complete in the background.

Q: I am still not clear on how you calculate pricing?
A: Okay, pricing is reasonably simple. For example, lets
say you want to back up one desktop or server that has 80GB of used space. With
compression we can estimate that the actual backup space on the offsite server
will be 60GB. A base account is $15 per month for up to 5GB of used space. But
you will use more than 60GB, so we do some math. Each 5GB added to the base of
5GB is an extra $2 each. So we take the 60GB and subtract the base of 5GB
leaving us with 55GB additional. We take the 55GB and divide by the additional
increment of 5 and we get 11 extra increments. Each extra increment is $2 per
month, so we multiply the extra 11 increments by $2 to get $22 total extra. We
add the base of $15 to the extra of $22 and we get a total of $37 due for that
month.
If you had two computers using the same 60GB of space, the
price will calculate the very same, but there is an additional $10 per month for
extra computers. So with 2 computers using 60GB of space on the storage server,
your new total for the month would be $47.
Also, pricing is calculated based on the average amount of
space you occupy on the offsite server each month!

Q: Can I backup my whole computer, or can I choose certain
files?
A: A great feature of our service is that we can backup
anything you want! If you want to backup the entire hard drive, we can do that.
If just you want to backup your documents and emails, we can do that. We can
even backup attached external hard drives. Anything connected to your computer
with data on it we should be able to back up!

Q: What is Redundancy for up to 99 copies?
A: Redundancy is the saving of multiple copies of a file as
it is changed. Our service allows us to save up to 99 copies of every file we
save. How does this work?
For this example, lets assume you ask for a setting of 10
copies for backup redundancy. Each time your scheduled backup takes place, the
backup checks to see if the file being backed up has been changed since the last
backup. If it has changed, the the previously saved file is not changed, but
rather, the newly changed file is added to the backup. If we already have 10
copies saved when a new backup tries to add another file, the oldest file in the
backup history is removed. The backup system does this for as many copies as we
set when the backup is configured, up to 99 copies.
Why is redundancy beneficial? Redundancy is good because
during use, files can become corrupted or affected by viruses and in many cases
it might be too late before the problems are discovered. With redundancy in
place, we can go back for up to 99 copies of a file and recover a good working
copy.
Redundancy does use additional disk space and will add to
your total used space resulting in a higher monthly bill. Please keep this in
mind when choosing how many redundant copies of a file to keep.

Q: What are the contract terms?
A: Contracts are currently available for one year and two
years. Certain other customer specific plans are available based on your needs,
let us know on the order form if your needs are different. Once you notify us of
your interest and your backup needs, we will tailor a contact for you based on
your desired term. The entire contract with Terms and Conditions will be sent to
you and a signed agreement by a proper agent will be required to initiate your
backup plan.
Once received by us, your contract will begin on the start
date noted on the contract. Bills will be emailed/mailed out either every 30
days from your contract start date, or the last day of each month. Bills will be
due based on the terms of your contract, generally 15 or 30 days from invoice
date.

Q: Why don’t you offer a fixed monthly or yearly fee
service?
A: Great question! We would love to be able to offer this
service for something like $9.99 each month for every customer. But this is not
realistic. Because we gear our service towards servers and large amounts of data
we have to have large, reliable, and capable servers to hold this data. Some of
our customers use less than 5GB and others are using over 300GB. Because of this
it is imperative that we have a per tier system. We also put far greater effort
into monitoring and protecting your data than any low cost fixed price provider
ever will. With us you truly get what you pay for!

stipulations for delinquent accounts?

finance charge. Invoices not paid within 10 days of due date will also be
subject to a $25 late fee. Furthermore, accounts not paid within 10 days of the
due date, may be subject to immediate data deletion. YES, any delinquent account
will be subject immediate data deletion and no recovery service will be offered
under any circumstances for past due accounts.
Any account closed during a contract term, is subject to a
$50 charge or 1/2 the last paid monthly fee, whichever is higher. Accounts

required to reinstate your data on our backup server.
PLEASE KEEP ACCOUNTS CURRENT!!!
